THE MAGIC OF THE HORSE® performance, is a unique equestrian variety production, created and produced by me Tanya Larrigan.

   Since 2000 l have wanted to bring my dream to life, but for various reasons it couldn't happen. Having seen other equestrian  productions at home and abroad, l  felt that there was a space in the entertainment world for mine.

The aim of the show was to promote horses through entertainment and show the many different things they could do,  to open up the world  of horses and encourage those outside the horseworld to come and see the performance and hopefully be encouraged to  have ago.  To do this l knew that l needed to  include other  leading  performers and trainers whom l have met on my travels, creating a total variety of work shown,   also using  some of my own displays.  l wanted it to be of such a standard that other equestrians would want to see it and almost more important was that it would reach and draw in a new audience, so that it should appeal to those who simply want to see the horses dance!!   

In '06, checking that the artists had a space in their diaries and that the venue was available l decided the time was right to start the ball rolling.  

As well as carrying on with my other work and training some new displays for the M.O.T.H. (the shows working name), getting everything arranged such adverts and the P.R.   l felt that l had enough on my plate. So l brought a professional production company on board, who took care of the lighting, the sound and setting up the rigging to take the lights and getting all the drapes up that are needed to dress the indoor arena. Staging it in such an arena makes it harder to set the right impression but not impossible - just some imagination from the producer!

THE MAGIC OF THE HORSE® does not tell a story, there are no dancers or singers  it is simply pure horse. My  vision brought to life by over 35 horses of all sizes, breeds and colours, in a series of displays such as 'Time Gone By' with the majestic heavy horses and the amazing Para riders in 'Just the Two of Us'  and not forgetting  my famous  miniature horse long reining display team The  ‘Mini Marvels®’

The MOTH team  comes from many parts of the country to perform their special show for you, each one is different,  some are leading competitive combinations, others such as the Mini Marvels do a lot of charity work and their displays world wide. 

In The Magic of the Horse®, we are sharing with you a part of our world, celebrating the friendship, the partnership, the trust and the joy that horses bring into our lives.
